In our modern world, genetic engineering has played a significant role in our lives and has changed the world on agriculture over the years. One of the most important impacts on modern agriculture is Genetically Modified Organism (GMO). Scientists alter the genetic material of a food or organism from the use of recombinant DNA biotechnological procedures. This recombination can be accomplished by moving genes from one organism to another or by changing genes in an organism that are already present (â€Å"Genetically modified organism†). One example of GMO is the genetically modified food. Genetically modified food has been popular around the world not only because of its benefits in people’s daily lives, but also the positive impacts on economy, and the environment. Throughout many pieces of research, many facts state that humans cannot live without GMOs. GMO can bring lots of benefits to human lives and has solved some problem of health, such as lack of nutrients and a lso hunger. GM foods can be engineered to have one specific nutrient, such as vitamin A. Nutrients are extremely important to humans’ body health because these components in food allow our bodies to move and grow. Golden Rice is a great example of GM food. It is a form of yellow-colored rice that is produced through genetic engineering to biosynthesize beta-carotene in the edible parts of rice.
